This is the first post from Penelope Loves Lists Contributor Sharon Carl. Sharon is a maker extraordinaire. She knits, she sews, she both plays and sings beautiful music, I could go on and on.
I clearly love her, as you can see by how tightly I’m hugging her in the photo below. (Sharon is on the right.) She’s a wonder to me in all her creativity. But she’s also very practical, with suggestions for clever ways to get things done.
I used to use a blaring, jarring, loud alarm clock. I would immediately hit the snooze button. Several times actually, and end up staying in bed for an extra half hour. And that extra time was not exactly peaceful, interrupted every five minutes by loud noise.
Enter, the Progressive Alarm Clock.
You know that clear bell sound that the instructor uses to bring you out of meditation in yoga class? That’s what brings me out of sleep now. I can even set intervals, and the volume increases at each one. Some mornings I’m up with the first bell, others I linger a bit, but the quality of rest is not disturbed. I love it.
You can get an expensive clock that does this, but the app is more versatile, and it’s only two bucks.
