Makeup Drawer Before and After : or, how to make a huge difference in just 5 minutes

October 22, 2012

My makeup drawer is one I use about 10 times a day, it’s my main bathroom drawer. And every time, 10 times a day, it bugged me. It was so crowded and had things in it I didn’t need that got in the way of what I did need.

Before: crowded and irritating

Today, thinking of good, old, Spencer Pratt, I decided to take 5 minutes and get this thing into better shape.

Nothing special here. Nothing “organizey”.

I just threw out all the stuff I’d accumulated but didn’t need. And I moved a few things (the Q-tips, the baby’s toothbrush) into spaces that made more sense.

And then I rinsed out the tray and put back the remaining items. That’s it. But boy, did I feel better! I kept opening the drawer just to admire it.

After: emptier and aaaaah

Took 5 minutes.

What can you do in 5 minutes?

PS: Are you following Penelope on Facebook? Don’t miss out on the fun. Just this week, we had a rousing discussion of the pros and…well…pros of vacuum lines. Important stuff, Penelopes.

As with any drawer organizing project, the trick is always in maintaining it.

Yes, but what did you do with your Urban Decay Naked eye palette? It’s my favorite. :)

It’s still there! It’s one of my faves, too!

Amazing what you can accomplish in 5 minutes. Pretty sure there’s a baby toothbrush in my makeup tray too.
