The number one request I get (which never fails to surprise me, actually) is to see more of my lists. My actual, used-in-real-life lists. The perfectionist is me always wonders if my real life list is interesting enough – or perfect enough. It’s surely not, look at that big blobbish thing in the bottom left. But, I know I love to see people’s lists, too, so here we go.
Fear of being mocked, be damned!
This is actually a group of lists I use each year to get ready for Thanksgiving. This is my list from 2 years ago, but it’s still accurate, so why re-invent the wheel?
Because we’ll be joining my family at my parent’s house this year, I don’t have too too much to do or to cook (just sweet potatoes and a family recipe for another sweet side dish), but it’s enough that I needed to get myself organized or I would surely forget something.
How will I use this? Of course I use it to gather my thoughts first and foremost. And then it sits on my kitchen counter and I glance at it multiple times a day, accomplishing related items as I go.
Next I take a photo of the list and reference that when I go shopping for the food items I need. My notebook is way too precious to actually leave the house.
Finally, I’ll add this to my Evernote account and there it will be accessible for use next year when I want to remember what I made or who attended our celebration.
And I say at the bottom of the page that I’m thankful for many things, a big one of which is getting a chance to write here regularly. Sharing with Penelopes feeds my creativity and reminds me every day that I am part of a huge, compulsive, ever-so-tidy community. And for that, I am incredibly thankful.
Happy, happy Thanksgiving!
PS: the notebook I use here is my new Miquelrius 8-subject spiral notebook, which I loooooooooove.
